Great Machine
My husband and I love the low profile and small it is to sit on our counter- it's space saving. It's pretty easy to use and a very smart machine- it has a tray overflow stop, will self clean the milk steam wand and is made out of great parts. The only thing, it is hard to get the portafilter into the machine- it's so new that you have to really put some power into it and I have to use my body weight to remove it. It is slowly losening up over time.

Underwhelmed
I bought the Bambino Plus two weeks ago and am disappointed. Especially since it’s my second Breville and I loved the first one I had (different model). The handle is annoyingly tight and moves the machine each time I place it in or remove it. It’s been tricky finding the right espresso pull setting and each shot comes out bitter, regardless the of the bean used. The water reservoir is curved so much it causes the machine to take up quite a lot of counter space. The wet tray under the handle is awkward to clean. I think I’ll return this one, which is a bummer.

Excellent affordable option for home espresso
As a former barista, I felt that I had to spend a fortune to get a good home espresso. After doing some research and seeing this unit go on sale, I pulled the trigger. This allowed me to spend more money on a nice single dose grinder, scale with time, and a few other accessories. Obviously good espresso take time and intention, but I was able to quickly dial in and have been producing great espresso based drinks for a few weeks now. The only feature on this machine I haven't tried is the auto milk steamer as I personally enjoy steaming milk manually. However I felt that the other upgrades to the bambino were worth it at the sale price.

Great machine for newbie, few frustrations or niggles for sage to improve on
Really good machine. As someone moving from Nespresso to espresso I am very pleased with how easy the journey has been with it. Few frustrating points which are more niggles but would be great if sage assesses them. The weight of the machine, can be difficult to put the portafilter on. Have to use two hands. The drip tray is very small and needs emptying a lot. The float marker helps to identify this but regular changes needed. The plastic insert in the portafilter seems a strange one as it traps oils and dirt underneath. I understand why it is there for people who do not follow a process to pre heat it but it is not mentioned anywhere and brings a lot of confusion.

After years of using a pod machine and getting to a stage where it was costing a fortune for capsules, I decided it was time to move up a stage and making coffee from scratch. I had limited “real estate” - just where I’d had my old *espresso machine, pod holder and frother- so I couldn’t really consider anything too big, especially as I needed to accommodate a decent grinder, so the decision was really Bambino or Bambino Plus. Checking reviews and speaking with a pal who’d bought one a couple of years ago, I decided that a Plus was worth the additional cash and that’s where I ended up. It’s a really good little machine out of the box and with a couple of important additions it’s a great one. You’ll read a lot about the portafilter and its plastic insert and the tamper, which is “ok”, but once you replace these, you have a really great machine that produces coffee that’s way better than you’ll get at your local, high street shop. Learning to dial in your brew is something you’ll need to do come what may but as for the rest of it, it’s really straightforward to use.

Didn't work for me!
I was trying to replace my Breville Dual Boiler to save on counter space. Soooo .. I got the Bambino Pro. Although it pulled an excellent brew, it was just too light and flimsy for my comfort. It felt like a toy and I really like something more substantial.

Perfect size for small apartment
I love this machine! Its small enough to not take up a lot of space in my small apartment, isn't too noisy, and makes a great espresso. I like the auto cleaning feature for the milk frother. I do clean the tray after using the milk frother so that the milk that comes out from the cleansing doesn't sit there and dry and can become harder to clean later.

The Bambino Plus - Great Little Machine
I’ve had the Sage Bambino Plus for just over a month now and it was a replacement for my Duo Temp whose front panel buttons decided to give up. This is a marked improvement on the Duo Temp in terms of coffee quality. It’s very easy to use albeit quite a light machine so a certain amount of downwards pressure is required when inserting or removing the portafilter. I haven’t had to play around too much with water dosage as it worked straight off to my desired taste. However as some point or other I must have pressed some or of buttons for too long as the milk froth overflowed and overheated the milk. A factory reset soon resolved that though. The automatic milk frother is great too. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
