Took me 15 minutes to get filter out of package!
The filter is Okay, although it doesn't seem to last very long. Yes I see that others think it lasts fairly long. The packaging for the filter is RIDICULOUS! SO dang hard to open and it's almost completely plastic. LG really needs to figure out a better way (both for the user and the environment) to package their filters...perhaps placing it into a cardboard box. Also - so expensive in today's economy. I might have to resort to knock offs!

Hello. We appreciate you sharing your experience regarding your LG LT1000P3 Water Filter. We recognize your experience with the packaging design, pricing, and filter lifespan. To help optimize water flow and ensure the filter operates at its best throughout its service life, verify that the filter cartridge is fully rotated and locked into position, flush approximately 2.5 gallons of water through the dispenser after installation to purge trapped air, and inspect the inlet water pressure to maintain steady flow. We want to help ensure your kitchen setup operates perfectly and comfortably for your household. Please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com if you need further support. ^James
Bad filters
The filter does not filter anything out. I have a water tester and the water from the tap reads at 135 parts contaminants and chemical properties and the water from the filtered fridge reads at 147. It is actually higher than from the faucet. This leaves me with no use for the ice and the water dispenser and having to purchase a different filter. These results are across two different filters I thought maybe the one that came with the fridge was defective but it seems to be all of them.

Do not buy these
Update to an earlier review- I replaced the LG filter with a different filter and now the water tastes great. Do not waste your money with these filters. Now I wish I could return the others I still have!

Not a great filter
Filter is easy to install, but after using several in a pack, the water still tastes like chlorine and has an odd taste. I have to use a brita to get neutral tasting water.

Médiocre options
Filter cover cheaply made, will not pass the test of time , small little plastic clips to hold the filer and idea is once fridge is paid your still on the hook for water and air filter every 6 months or monthly

Has Performed Well
I recently purchased a package of three water filters for our LG refrigerator we’ve had for a little over six months. LG offered a special price offering for them which was a nice incentive to purchase the filters. To date, the filter we used has performed well and the water tastes fine.

Won't filter chlorine
I purchased the fridge with the house. It's brand new and has a brand new filter. The filter is supposedly ANSI certified 42, to remove chlorine. My water and my ice from the fridge tastes like a swimming pool. This filter has absolutely no effect on the chlorine taste.
