I wanted a pretty everyday drinking class set that would match any dishes. I had already purchased plates made from this material which I liked. It is like plastic, but not plastic - it is smooth, thicker and more upscale. The plates are colored, however, and these glasses are clear. Unlike my glasses that are actually made of glass, these come out of the dishwasher full of spots (even with a rinse aid). That is disappointing. I do like feel of them though and the fact that they aren't glass. I would recommend the ones that are colored or have a design.
