Didn’t last long enough

I had to look back at my purchase history through Macys, because I couldn’t remember when I purchased this trash can. I was surprised to find out that this trash can only held up for a little less than a year before the foot pedal stopped working. I noticed the latch to lid broke, which is why we now have to lift it up ourselves, which is annoying. The stainless steel underneath the lid also stained badly and the screws are all rusted, no matter how hard I tried to clean it. The trash bags never stay put or are hard to put in, regardless of what sized gallon bags we buy. The lid doesn’t close properly, which made our large dogs get easy access inside, nor does it close quietly. I was also in disbelief at how much this item was purchased for, just to become an eyesore and need replacing already. I would not recommend this trash can to others, unless you plan on buying a new one within a year after purchasing. I’m on the hunt for a new kitchen trash can but will be avoiding this brand,
