Simply Bad Advice

Like the reviewer above says, the advice is somewhere between outdated, sexist, and egotistical. I can't tell if the book was written for narcissists or by one. I'm sorry that's so harsh, but my jaw was on the ground at some of the advice. One example, Armin talks at length about how medical professionals will focus exclusively on your pregnant wife. His solution with his own pregnant wife was to "pepper them with so many questions it was impossible to ignore me". I don't want to transcribe any more of the book, but as an expecting father the advice in this book felt like it was either far bellow my current level of empathy, or encouraged me to make myself the center of my wife's pregnancy.

Validating for men living through wive's pregnancy

I can't speak more highly about this book. It gave a refreshing perspective from the dad's point of view throughout pregnancy breaking it down month by month on this is what is going on in your partner's body right now, this is how she's feeling, and how you can support her. It also empathizes with the emotions that Dads feel that nobody talks about which helped me to feel like I was not alone. Definitely worth adding to your pre-baby library!
