Pieces not fitting into each other
We just got this but a few of the bolts are not big enough to fit the screws in. Help

Waiting for great-grandson's approval.
I purchased the product as a Christmas gift for my 3 1/2 year old great-grandson. How he received it will determine how I feel about it.

Very frustrated with the quality
The nuts do not fit the screws right. They are loose, and some seem like the tread doesn't even match up. The slots in the screws are way to small for the screwdriver, so the screw driver is just a stick. The "claw" of the hammer isn't functional, but it could be if it were a bit thinner and the nails had a bit more clearance. One of the screws also didn't seem to have been glued to the head of the screw because it fell right out. We also received another set of M&D tools as a gift and they had the same issues. This could be a great product with some small design changes and better QC.

Pretty good product.
This one is nice. We have had a few months, bought for our almost 2 year old. She loves playing with all of the peices and learning to use the screw driver and wrench. I gave 3 stars because after a few months of play, the wooden nuts and bolts have worn out and the grooves are almost gone so they almost slide together instead of screw. Everything else has held up to her play. She loves carrying the whole bench around. Definately good for a puzzler!

Disappointed
My daughter has been asking for a tool set for months so I got her this toy for her 4th Birthday. She started playing with the Hammer and Nails and within a few minutes broke the nailhead in half. The broken piece flew across the room and the edge is splintered. This toy seems to not be safe - I'm afraid to let her play with the rest of the set for fear of something else breaking and hurting her.

I will be returning this product
I am very disappointed in this product. I gave it to my three-and-a-half-year-old grand daughter. She took out the hammer and hammered a Yellow Block. The hammer left dents all over of wood. They must have used Balsam wood. My granddaughter then tried to use the saw to saw the pieces of wood. the pieces of wood are velcroed together, and the child must try to saw them apart. Velcro causes the blocks to be too tightly bound together. You cannot get the saw between the blocks. She Became very frustrated and walked away from the toolbox within the first 5 minutes. Total waste of money. Melissa & Doug need to go back to the drawing board for this product.

Poor quality and hard for children to use
My son received this as a birthday gift. We were excited about it at first because the realistic screws and nails seemed like something he would have fun playing with; however, the quality is terrible and it is frustrating for him and us to use. The screw treads don’t fit in the pieces and the nails are too tight to easily fit in and out. Overall none of the pieces except the Velcro blocks are really usable. I wish our family hadn’t wasted money on this product and could get a refund.
