Not impressed

I just received this a week ago and everything was going great. I setup my apps and connected my headphones and now after about a week when I turn it on it says the battery is overheating and it will turn off . Then it turns off. How is the battery overheating if I just turned it on. I am about to return it. I just got it there should not be any issues. I think this is refurbished instead of new I have never had any issues with any electronics after 1 week. I should have brought the more expensive brand.
