Building Happiest Droid in the Galaxy happiness

Absolutely loved this set from start to finish. Building R2-D2 while watching the original Star Wars trilogy honestly made the entire experience feel weirdly magical in the best way possible. Peak cozy nerd happiness achieved. The build itself was amazing. Fun, detailed, and satisfying without feeling repetitive, and watching R2 slowly come together piece by piece somehow made me love the little droid even more. LEGO did such a good job capturing his personality and iconic shape while still making the build process engaging. The finished model looks fantastic on display too. Instantly recognizable, full of little details, and somehow manages to look both adorable and heroic at the same time. Which is fitting because R2-D2 has spent decades carrying entire galactic rebellions on his tiny cylindrical back while everyone else panics around him. This set genuinely just made me happy. The combination of nostalgia, creativity, Star Wars comfort watching, and LEGO building therapy was honestly perfect. Overall, wonderful build, amazing display piece, and one of the most joyful LEGO experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Assembly stability

The legs and feet assembly is structurally under engineered for the loads and tolerances involved, with too few positive locking elements and an over reliance on friction and extremely tight tolerances. During assembly this causes instability, difficult alignment, and repeated re-seating of parts, and any required backtracking significantly degrades clutch performance and the overall build experience. This is a sequencing and structural design issue rather than builder error, and additional internal reinforcement or positive locking geometry would have improved assembly stability without affecting the exterior design. The finished model is stable, but the leg and foot construction does not meet expectations for a premium display set.
