Experience cookware that feels like a chef's pan the moment you pick it up. The Alva Forest 8" Carbon Steel Frying Pan is designed for home cooks tired of pans that warp or lose their coating. Unlike PTFE-based nonstick, it uses naturally seasoned carbon steel to create a non-toxic release surface that improves with every use—no flaking, just better cooking. Whether you're frying morning eggs or searing steaks, it heats fast and evenly on gas, induction, electric, and griddle cooktops, sealing in flavor like professional cookware. The ergonomic, riveted acacia wood handle stays cool and is balanced for effortless flipping without fatigue. Because carbon steel lasts decades, this isn't just a pan—it's an heirloom piece offering professional browning and easy cleanup. If you're tired of cheap cookware that underperforms, this is the upgrade your kitchen deserves so you can cook every dish with confidence.

  • Product Features

    • REAL NATURAL NONSTICK YOU CAN TRUST – Premium carbon steel builds a naturally seasoned surface that improves with use — no PTFE, no PFOA, no PFAS, no chemicals that flake or off-gas. Cooks like cast iron but with lighter feel and easier control.
    • BUILDS SEASONING EVERY TIME YOU COOK – Our hand-finished carbon steel forms a slick seasoning layer over time (like pro cookware), giving effortless release for eggs, fish, stir-fry and more. Gets better with every use.
    • UNIVERSAL HEAT + WOW HEAT-UP SPEED – Thick carbon steel clamps and distributes heat quickly on induction, gas, electric, halogen or flat top griddles. Browns and sears like a restaurant pan — no hotspots.
    • COMFORT + CONTROL YOU CAN FEEL – Ergonomic acacia wood handle stays cool longer and gives a balanced grip for flips, scrambles, sauces and pans-to-oven work up to 400°F. Riveted for durability — built to last decades.
    • EASY CLEANUP + LIFETIME VALUE – Rinse and wipe after cooking — no soap stripping seasoning. Dishwasher safe when needed but hand washing extends seasoning life. Backed with our satisfaction guarantee — if it's not perfect, we make it right.

Missing the non stick selling point

I bought this pan to replace a pan that was a cleaning disaster. Well this pan is no better. Scrambled eggs stick to the pan and make for a challenging clean up of it. I would not recommend

Take a look

I’m honestly very disappointed with this casserole. Every time I use it, it keeps rusting, which clearly shows very poor quality. I’m not sure if mine came defective or if the brand has manufacturing issues, but the truth is that it’s not good. I also don’t believe the rust it releases while cooking is safe, as it could potentially be harmful. The size is great, and the design is actually very nice, which makes this even more disappointing. I truly thought it would become my favorite, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations at all.

Hi [Customer Name], First, thank you for taking the time to share this — and I’m genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. That’s absolutely not the performance we want anyone to have with their Alva casserole. Rusting is not expected with normal use when the cookware is properly dried and cared for. In some cases, what appears to be rust can happen if moisture remains on the surface after washing, or if the seasoning layer has been compromised. That said, it should never feel like something you’re constantly battling — and we definitely want to take this seriously. To address your concerns directly: Safety: Surface rust on cookware is not considered harmful, but we completely understand why it would be concerning and frustrating — especially while cooking. Quality: This is not reflective of the standards we design and test to. If your piece is defective, we want to make it right. Expectation: We design our cookware to last for years, and we hate hearing that this didn’t become the favorite you hoped it would be. Could you please reach out to our care team at care@alvacookware.com for more help.

Nice little pan

This skillet was easy to use with a good nonstick surface. The skillet is a good size for eggs, grilled cheese, etc. it is handwashing only, which is not very convenient.

Stylish carbon steel pan

The design of this pan is definitely stylish. I like that you can have style without losing functionality. That is a great design. It is quite smooth and has great quality. Perfect for seasoned steaks. Maintenance is same as the steel pan.

Hand wash only

This is a non stick pan, worked really well while cooking. The package says hand wash, and I still ended up with water rust spots. Make sure you dry all the way before storing it!

A little workhorse

This is my new little workhorse in the kitchen. I bought the 8-inch pan, and upon receiving it I rinsed it with light soapy water just to remove any dust from storage and shipping. It already comes cured, but still, I rubbed a tiny tiny bit of avocado oil and then rubbed it off before the first use. It seared my arepa evenly, I was able to flip it without having to detach it with a spatula like I have to do with other non-stick pans. I am in love. The wood handle has a nice weight that stabilizes the pan. I do not have a convection stovetop and it cooked my food nicely. I used medium heat.

Pretty & Light Weight But a Total Heat Diva

This skillet is a bit of a mixed bag in the most charming way. It’s wonderfully lightweight, surprisingly non-stick, and the wood handle feels so comfortable in the hand — like it was actually designed by someone who cooks. But here’s the catch: this pan is temperamental. You basically have to treat it like a delicate little diva on the stove. If the heat isn’t set to very low, it will scorch your food in seconds. Even on just medium low heat, my grilled cheese got a little more toasty than I prefer. The flip side to that, though, is the heat distribution was even, so at least it burned evenly. Once you adjust to its overly sensitive personality, it can turn out some great results — but there’s definitely a learning curve. Perfect if you want something light and stylish… just be ready to cook low and slow.

Great quality

Great size and heavy duty weight. Has a great frying capacity. Gave a great sear to my breakfast sausage. It’s amazing pan and wish I would have purchased this before. Storages great as well.
