Chaise Lounge chair disappointing

I paid for new, but unfortunately items are refurbished and not NEW! boxes look like they were repackaged. After months going back and forth with my husband we finally agree on these chairs, first they came with a canopy so didn't need to by an umbrella (looks like the canopy doesn't fully go down) and also came with a side table again no need to purchase an additional table plus table folds down when not in used. But can't used the side table cause mechanism that goes attached came broken. The instructions are not very clear you need to read several times and look at the diagram over and over. We were planning on returning the purchases items but items are to heavy and boxes won't fit in my car would need to make several trips. Wrote to seller waiting for reply will follow up with additional review on out come. Hoping once put together that it looks like the image on the Macys website
