3rd use: falling apart and beginning to tangle

We have used this vacuum three time and while I was amazed at its ability to pick up dog hair from our carpets, I am not sure its going to last very long. During my last use I noticed a black circle roll out from under the base, it caught my eye becuase I have nothing in my home that would have such a piece. I pick it up and investigated the bottom of the vacuum and to my surprise the part was from a rubber jacketed wheel near the front of the base. While the matching wheel on the opposing side was still intact this one had shed its rubber, and upon a closer look was completely entangled in hair along with every other rolling member on the base. While I had the vacuum up on my table I removed the bottom plate and inspected the rotating brush which is part of the base and it too was tangled with hair on each of its ends which I thought would be a nonexistent issue being that this product it designed specify for pet hair and touts "Tangle-Free Brush Roll" . I guess you as the user has to detangle the "tangle-free brush roll" to keep it clean.

Great vacuum, but pieces get clogged

I love this vacuum but the pet eraser attachment for the hose and the brush itself gets easily clogged withy pets hair. Unfortunately since the pieces don't come apart, I've had to replace them all as they stop working and smell like burnt hair. I've stopped using this on carpet and only on hard wood and low pile rugs. It's doing much better with not clogging as fast.

It's not bad

I would rate the suction power as average. It takes about 3 passes to get visible pieces of dirt, which is reasonable, but average in my mind. One thing that drives me mental is that it snaps into the upright lock extremely easily and I find that I frequently have to step on the front and pull the handle back to unlock it while vacuuming. If this is a feature that bugs you, too, you might want to look at a different model. I do love Bissel's dedication to helping pets and am hoping, based on the good brand name, that this vacuum lasts a long time.

More Control - More Options - Best Pet Hair Eraser

My old vacuum was a Bissel and it was time for a new one. I bought a Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Lift-Off and it is way better! I have 2 pets. A long haired cat and a white haired dog that sheds constantly. My favorite feature with this vacuum is the brush roll on or off switch that gives you so more control - plus the carpet type control also. I love all the lights! Very helpful! It was amazing the difference in picking up the pet hair. Plus I love how quiet the vacuum is when not using the brush roller. It is super convenient to use the Lift-Off feature and remove the pod from the foot of the vacuum. The two attachments are great. Love the light on the Brush & Crevice tool. The TurboBrush Pivot Pet tool works amazing well, but it is noisy. Great overall vacuum and it is a new and improved Pet Hair vacuum!
