RIP My Favorite Hiking Shoe
I’ve been a huge fan of the Moab line since the beginning. The Moab 1 and 2 fit me like a glove and were my go to hiking and outdoor shoes for years. Sadly, my long and loyal relationship with this shoe has come to an end with the Moab 3. Like many other 1 star reviewers have pointed out, the biggest problem is the redesigned toe box. Somehow Merrell took a shoe that fit beautifully and turned it into something that feels cramped, awkward, and just plain wrong. After enough people complained, Merrell added the helpful little note that the shoe “runs small” and suggested ordering a half size up. So I followed their advice. I wear an 11, ordered an 11.5, and the result was still terrible. The shoe doesn’t fit right, doesn’t feel right, and honestly feels like it was designed by someone who has only heard about feet in theory. I genuinely do not understand why brands feel the need to “innovate” a product that already works. Not every classic needs a redesign. Sometimes a great shoe is a great shoe. This feels less like improvement and more like a marketing meeting got out of hand. In a time when companies keep ruining tried and true products in the name of innovation, it’s especially disappointing to see Merrell do the same. The original Moab earned trust through consistency, comfort, and reliability. The Moab 3 tosses a lot of that aside. Merrell, please bring back the Moab 2.

fire shoes
I figured I'd leave a review since I am on my second pair of these shoes at this point. I truly dont know what the other negative reviews are on about these shoes are insanely comfortable. I have IT band trouble and at this point these are pretty much the only shoes I wear. 10/10 would recommend

Not comfortable at all
These are not comfortable shoes. I brought these and thought I would break them in. Overall these are bad for just plain walking

Merrell Moab 3 Beluga color
It's my third pair of Merrell shoes. I don't even look at other brands anymore they are that comfortable. I like the beluga color scheme from the side, but the black mesh looks weird from the top. It's not a deal breaker though.

Poor fit, raw blisters in 40 minutes
Worn once so far for a 40 minute walk around the neighborhood. Developed a bad blister on my heel that also ripped open in that short period of time. Waiting till it's healed before I try wearing again as it's very uncomfortable even with a bandaid tho other shoes are fine. May not be able to wear these again as the fit seems to be different that my last 2 pairs of Moab 2. Those were comfortable right out of the box and worn daily till the soles wore out. The portion of shoe at the back of heel I think should be taller and cup the heels from the sides as well. The laces do not come back far enough either. Feels like these shoes do not hug my feet at the heel like the competing brand I just bought and love. Should've just bought them and skipped the Moab 3.

Mediterranean steps no break in. Rock of Gibraltar
Loved going back to Merrel. Took me completely up and down the rock of Gibraltar. 2 days break in. Perfect fit.
