More than just a Fanny pack.

Excellent pack. A number of pockets for storage, bottle holder, handles for carrying pack, expandable body, which can be tightened, wide waist strap & back padding. Large Velcro outside pocket More than just a normal pack. Well worth the money.

Love the purse handles!

Bought this for a month long hiking trip. Overall a good purchase, BUT needs a couple of improvements. Capacity was good and easy access. I really liked the “purse handles” they were convenient when not strapped on waist. Adjustable waist strap does not “lock in place”. So while hiking it tends to loosen up and sag. I ended up using a safety pin to secure it, but design needs an update. The other issue was water bottle holder didn’t work well for me. I purchased one from Columbia made to fit in the holder, but didn’t care for it and returned it. I ended up just using a refillable plastic one but it was too small for the holder. So while climbing my leg hit the bottom of the bottle and even with the top elastic band on it the bottle would fall out the bottom. Partially bc the loosened waist strap allowed it to set lower being too close to leg when climbing, the other reason was the single strap in the bottom of the bottle holder. If this was designed with either 2 cross straps on the bottom or a fill mesh bottom it would prevent any size bottle from falling out. Overall I would purchase again it was very durable, but hoping the manufacturer reads this and makes a couple of improvements!

Macy’s San Francisco Rocks

This Columbia brand “ Echo Mountain Hip Pack” (aka fanny pack ) I bought at Union Square San Francisco USA is outstanding. It is a smart design with a water bottle holder , plenty of straps and pockets It is also cote with double handles in top in case you want to carry it like a handbag /purse Even more outstanding is the excellent unionized staff. They were very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Finding a fanny pack in one of the largest department stores in the US is no small feat, but they told me right where to go I love Macy’s and I hope management changes its mind about selling the property. Macy’s has been an integral part of the fabric of San Francisco since 1947 and is visited by people the World over. It is a 15 minute walk from my apartment That’s pretty awesome!

Excellent bit of kit for short hikes.

Excellent bit of kit. I have hip packs from a number of other companies, but this one is perfect, as it is comfortable, has plenty of space/security and my yeti bottle fits perfectly in the bottle holder (rather than wobbling about like some do!) Went for the retro jazzy colours & they are true to the pictures.
