Refill jar does not fit

I purchased the refill to save money. Ir didn't fit in the empty white portion of the jar. My husband had to work to get the white container out. Still the refill would not fit and allow the lid to twist on. This is a lot of money for something I would have to scrape out the cream and put into the existing white container?! I am very disappointed.
