📖🍾BOOK REVIEW🍾📖 Rating: 4.5/5 stars 💍 You’re cordially invited to a wedding full of secrets, suspicion, and seriously sketchy rich people. 🥂🔍 ⁉️Would you rather have all of your or all of your fiancé's exes attend your wedding? 🅰️Definitely my fiancés! With suspicious in-laws, too many secrets, and a whole lot of rich-people weirdness, I couldn’t stop flipping pages. 🔎 This isn’t your typical thriller—it’s more like sipping chilled champagne while watching drama implode in slow motion. And yes, I loved every messy minute. Sit back and pop a cork! 🍾🥂 This slow-burn suspense starts with an awkward reunion between Frank and his estranged daughter, Maggie—inviting him to her wedding. However, this isn't your ordinary wedding. It's an ultra-glam event that unfolds over several days at a swanky private resort owned by the groom’s family—the Gardners. They are tech billionaires surrounded by some pretty alarming rumors. You can feel Frank's mix of surprise and apprehension leap off the page. With whispers about this powerful family and a weekend itinerary that reads more like a survival guide, Frank wonders if this “I do” is a fairytale or a potential disaster. The characters are so well crafted; each one has their own quirks and vibes that make the story shine. There are a few characters I couldn’t help but adore! Their personalities really popped off the page. The book wraps you in a fantastic atmosphere and spins a clever plot that keeps things interesting. This book topped the first one I read by the same author, and I’m already itching to see what’s next on his list. Thank you to the author and Flatiron Books for this ARC provided via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Solid Thriller
I feel like this book is a bit over hyped. It read kinda slow to me and I felt like nothing was really happening for the first 150 pages. Still a decent read but not even close to his other book "Hidden Pictures".

A story without a thesis
When I finished this book, I did not really understand what I had read. Certainly, it is a story about family relationships, the atmosphere of the wedding setting, the beauty of the camp, the food available around the wedding and a bit of a mystery, but I was left with a big "so what". In short, I feel that this is a book that is catered to what female readers like to read. I would much prefer some teeth in a book where something is happening or something is being said.

Slow and not very twisty
I had such high hopes and expectations for this one! I absolutely loved Hidden Pictures and this book has been all over social media so when my Libby hold was available I was excited. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. This thriller was unsatisfying and slow. It truly felt like not much happened. We got a big reveal about 60ish% of the way in (don’t quote me on this) and then didn’t get any other twists or real action. Once the reveal happened the rest was pretty predictable.

Perfect book club pick
So, I have very complicated feelings about this book. I could not turn the pages fast enough. Does it mean I loved the book? No. Did it keep me engaged the entire time? Yes. So how do you rate a book like that? I thought it was written excellently, I hated pretty much everyone but I was sucked in and I gasped several times and the twists really got me. With that being said it would be a great book club book because there is a lot to unpack with this one! I can’t wait to discuss it with my bookish besties! .

Twisty Thriller
This book pulls off the "wedding thriller" vibe in a way that somehow made family drama feel life-threatening. Frank Szatowski—just your average dad, showing up to his daughter’s wedding with hopes of a Hallmark-movie reunion—gets blindsided by a lot more than an awkward family photo. Maggie, his daughter who went radio silent for three years, suddenly calls him up and invites him to her big day, but she’s left out some tiny details. Like how the groom is a tech billionaire’s son, or how the entire event is hosted at the kind of estate that probably has hidden passageways and definitely has “dark secrets” written all over it. Cue Frank, our fish-out-of-water dad, just trying to get to know his daughter's sketchy future in-laws without turning it into a full-blown interrogation. But with Maggie’s fiancé, Aidan, acting shadier than a low-budget soap opera villain, and the locals treating the Gardners like they’re hiding Area 51-level secrets, Frank finds himself wondering if he’s the only sane one in the room. This book is suspenseful with a capital “S.” There’s just enough mystery to keep you guessing without completely hijacking the wedding vibes, although let’s be real—the aisle might as well have been littered with red flags. If you’re looking for a book that mixes father-daughter feels with a touch of “Get out!” intensity, this one’s for you. Only downside? I was so invested in Frank’s awkward father-in-law detective act that I wish we got a bit more clarity by the end. But hey, I’ll take the suspense hangover.

Entertaining
This had all the twists and turns that you’d expect in a thriller but sadly, there wasn’t enough tension built up to really have me on the edge of my seat. The story was good, well-written, but it slowed down in the middle and the solution was somewhat predictable. Even the ending, which should have bad me gasping in shock, was exactly as I thought it would be. I did enjoy the writing overall so I will read others by this author but this one wasn’t the thriller I was expecting it to be.
