Damaged or defective

I ordered two sets of these. 3 out of 4 chairs were Okay. One screw could not be tightened on the fourth because the pre threaded insert was not attached and the screw spins freely. For damages, the directions say to email them from the vendor purchased from. I cannot locate any way to call Macys about this, only AI. Which cannot figure out what damaged merchandise is and keeps sending me to the returns policy.

Damaged Item

The pre-screwed plank/wood under the padded stool cushion is split or cracked. We were able to assemble the stool but afraid at some point it may become a big problem. I sent two requests to the seller for resolution and not heard back. Plea see photo of the part in question and thank you
