This bowl is described as a "salad bowl", but the instruction card that is included with the bowl states not to put hot foods or hot water in it and to clean it by hand using only warm water and mild soap. I don't know how to get oil off a bowl or plate without using hot water and dish soap and because of that, this bowl is going back to the store. It is not dishwasher or microwave safe. It cannot be put in the freezer or exposed to "direct sunlight" as per the enclosed instructions. It has not been "tested for stains" as per the enclosed instruction card, so don't put any food in it that could stain the bowl like blueberries. The bowl is made of lucente resin, but it sounds like the resin is not "food safe", so why this bowl is described as a "salad bowl" is beyond me. Maybe use it as a fruit bowl. It is a beautiful blue bowl, but I think it is more for decorative use than food or cooking. It would look lovely sitting on a glass shelf with a light shining on it from above.

Color is not at all bright as shown on the photos, very dull appearance. They are pretty heavy as well. I'll probably return these as they are also expensive and not worth it.
