Reliable for more than home use

I purchased this for our church 3 years ago. Although it is mostly used one day/week, it gets heavy use on that day. When we host church events every 1-2 months, we double that use. We grind at least 3 pounds of coffee per week, and it has held up remarkably! I do clear out the residue occasionally, but the grinds have been consistent until recently. I see some complaints about the static - if you wait about 1 minute or so after grinding, there is very little issue with this. I am hoping to replace the burr if I can figure out how to see if this gets us back on track.

Reasons for a Baratza Virtuoso

We got the Baratza Virtuoso based on loads of reviews. It is rock solid, extremely easy to use, grinds quickly and relatively quietly, and has the Baratza approach to customer support. We already had a Sette270 for espresso.

Great Grinder

I love this grinder. It has performed wonderfully with easily adjustable settings. I had one minor issue and Vusimuzi in customer service was excellent and a joy to work wtih

Very happy with this Burr grinder

For the cost that some of these burr grinders are usually I wasn’t even considering this model. The sale Macy’s had made it much closer to others I was looking at so I jumped on it. Great home grinder. While it can do espresso, we don’t do a lot of espresso and are mostly grind for drip and course for cold brew. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful! Thou...

Virtuoso + has been wonderful; however after a year and a half it has completely stopped working. The display screen turns on but is completely blank, and nothing happens when we push the button to grind despite thoroughly cleaning it and watching online videos.

When it works, it’s good, but..:

Not only is it very messy from static, it gets so clogged up. We have followed the cleaning instructions and it makes little difference. I have to use the 40 setting plus an additional 10 to get enough grounds for a 16 oz pour over cup of coffee. Very disappointing

Just OK

Have had it for years. Does a good job overall. Is a bit on the loud side side but hey, it's a grinder. It can also be a slight bit messy, especially compared to some higher end grinders. Biggest problem is the ring that adjusts the grind is plastic and needs constant replacement. The tabs constantly break despite adjusting the proper way. Poor decision to use a plastic part here. I am finally upgrading to another companies grinder for a but more cost, but better build.

Thanks for the honest feedback, and for the years you spent with the Encore. One thing worth noting - when adjusting to a finer grind setting, we always recommend doing so with the machine running to avoid coffee compacting between the burrs, which can cause wear to the burr holder over time.
