The bottom cracked off of both because of ice

I bought a set as a gift for my partner and within 5 months the bottom had cracked off of both in the same way. The first time the bottom fell off while he was holding it. The second time we were preparing drinks and had only ice in the glass when we heard a loud pop and the glass was cracked in the exact same pattern as the first one. (The photos below show both of our glasses. We caught the second one after it cracked, but before it completely separated). We used them a couple times a week and only hand washed them, per instructions. Maybe there was a flaw in their production that didn’t allow them to withstand the use of ice?? The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because Waterford sent us a replacement set from another line after the first glass broke. Hopefully the replacements hold up?
