Beware: Macy’s may send you a used appliance.
The one star is not for the product itself. The one star is for the fact that Macy’s sent me a used machine! I received my Phillips 3300, unpacked it and set it up on my kitchen counter. Pulled out the water reservoir and noticed some moisture, but didn’t think much about it. Took out the water filter module and according to directions, I shook it up and down for a few seconds and water flew out of it. That’s when I thought it was strange. I looked in the bean hopper and there were coffee beans particles in it. Obviously, this machine was used and returned for some reason. So I repacked it and returned it to Macy’s. If someone was unhappy with it, I certainly wasn’t going to keep it. Unbelievable.
poor automatic espresso machine
This is not an espresso machine. This is a coffee maker with a very poor espresso attachment. It's using too much water during the cleaning process, every time you turn on the machine. The machine turns off very often if you are not using it. The bean hopper was designed improperly. You have to manually push the beans into the grinding part. If you missed that, you will drink hot water instead of coffee. The only good thing is that this machine is self-cleaning, so there is no mess around the machine.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t met expectations, and we understand how frustrating that can be. The water used at startup is part of the machine’s built‑in self‑rinsing feature. This automatic rinse helps maintain hygiene, prevents residue buildup, and supports consistent taste over time. This model also includes a standby mode to help save energy. By default, it switches to standby after a period of inactivity, but you can adjust the standby time in the settings menu. Philips offers several timing options depending on the model. Regarding the beans needing to be manually pushed, that shouldn’t be the case. This model is fully automatic, and the grinder is designed to pull the beans through on its own without manual assistance. If you’re seeing a “No beans / Add beans” message even though the hopper has beans, please check that the beans are dry and oil-free, the hopper isn’t overfilled, and the grind setting isn’t too fine. Gently shaking the hopper can also help loosen beans that may have settled. If the message continues, our team can help with further troubleshooting. We’d really like to take a closer look and help you get this resolved. You can reach us by phone at 1‑833‑737‑1212 (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–7 PM EST, excluding major holidays), or contact us through Instagram, Facebook, or the support options on our Home.ID website so our team can assist with the proper troubleshooting steps.
Solid Machine, but Drinks Aren’t Hot Enough
The machine performs well overall and operates with a relatively low noise level when grinding coffee, which makes daily use more pleasant. It is also easy to clean, and the general workflow is straightforward. There are, however, a few areas where performance could be improved. Milk‑based drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos consistently come out lukewarm rather than hot. I have tried adjusting the temperature settings multiple times, but these changes do not seem to affect the final drink temperature. The brewed coffee itself is somewhat hotter than lukewarm, but still not as hot as expected for optimal enjoyment. Additionally, the brewed coffee occasionally shows incomplete extraction. The coffee puck often remains humid instead of forming a dry, compact mat, which suggests that the machine may not be fully extracting the grounds in certain cases. Overall, the machine has a solid foundation, but improvements to drink temperature consistency and coffee extraction would significantly enhance the user experience.

Most awesome machine for espresso
I love, love , love my espresso machine. Sadly after 2 years I had to replace it. Hopefully I can take to a repair shop to fix it. I replaced it before I tried to repair it because I didn’t want go so long without it.

We love this unit! We replaced an older unit that needs o-rings replaced and will be put to use elsewhere. We love the quality of the machine, ease of cleaning and maintaining it, and the coffees that we get to enjoy!

Love my Philips Expresso machine!
Loved our Philips 1200 espresso machine so much we went with the 3300 series. Machine is so quiet and enjoying the Iced Coffee, Cappucino and Latte options. I like that Philips has kept what works over the years so weekly and monthly maintenance is very straight forward.
