Lightweight winter jacket

Bought this because I borrowed my daughters packable jacket last year to go to Alaska. Hers was thin but very warm and came with a bag to carry it in. Just received this jacket and it didn’t come with anything to pack it in. Also thicker than my daughter’s Abercrombie (many years old) jacket. Put it on over my sweatshirt and barely fit into the arms. I’m 5’7” and 165 lbs. Bought a large. It fits well everywhere else and is stylish. Not a big fan of a permanent hood but the sale price was excellent. Still not sure if I’ll keep it because I read it was “packable” and will use it for travel purposes. How is it packable…no instructions?!?
