another banger Lego formula 1 helmet
A musthave for F1 fans! The build is a lot of fun and the final model looks really good. I love that LEGO has opted for high quality prints for almost the entire helmet with stickers only on the visor area - a brilliant trade off for such a clean look. The Lewis Hamilton minifigure included looks great on display. It’s a great project to put together and makes a great display piece, especially when you put it right next to Charles’ helmet!

Worst lego I've owned
Overly complicated and very weak in its construction. Simply falls to pieces as you are trying to finish it as its held together by flimsy bar connectors.

Sir Lewis Hamilton Helmet
Not finished building it yet but on building the interals you’d be forgiven for thinking you were building some kind of alien on a stand! It’s not until bag 3 that you start seeing the yellow bits.

This Helmet
I don’t know anything about F1 but bought this helmet at full price to experience what was supposed to be the best building experience that Lego has to offer, and it did not disappoint except for a few issues. This set is so overengineered and has almost 100 pieces more than the next two F1 helmets coming out that are the exact same size and cost the same. The printed elements are next level, except for one that is misaligned, see pics, even the replacement part that Lego sent was still misaligned, the few stickers look great, pro tip wear gloves when applying the visor brow to avoid fingerprints on the seperatley packaged element. Side note, I am not a fan of the paper bags, especially the small ones. I was missing a piece that was swapped with a wrong element and had seen this issue in other reviews. Luckily, I had one in the Wall E set that I could use. Imagine if you were a F1 fan and wanted to give Lego a try this would have been an issue as you would have been unable to continue until the replacement arrived. Some of the 5-star reviews on Lego have pictures and their builds look janky. This set uses a lot of clips to attach sub builds and getting them aligned perfectly can be tricky as you can not see the attachment points. There are a few fiddly parts, but overall the set is very sturdy. This is definitely an advanced build. The only other negative is why the Hamilton minifigure does not have its own helmet. I guess I will have to borrow a red one from a Speed Champions set. This set looks absolutely amazing in person and is truly a next-level display piece. Hopefully, it goes on sale but even so it will still be pricey. Build 9 Display 10 Play 2 Value 4

It's a Lego helmet keepsake
It does not stay together enough to fully assemble. If you are planning to build this, use a sealant as you go so it stays together. Then it can stay mounted in good condition for years to come.

We're sorry to hear building your LEGO helmet set isn't going well. Please don't use a sealant on your set - get in touch with us so we can help figure out what's not fitting together properly! Feel free to give us a call or chat and have your set handy.
A must for any Lewis fan
I received this set recently for fathers day and slowly built it over 5 days, it amazed me the skill needed to design this set and incorporate all the pieces so that the outer 'skin' of the helmet would all attach at the correct angles to make it look authentic which it does from all angles. Some have found this set fragile and i did find the lower right jaw line assembly wouldnt stay on for any length of time but the left hand side stayed attached after 1st fit, so that meant it was likely my fault and once i rechecked piece locations and found where i had went wrong, and then refitted the right hand side assembly it has remained in place ever since. Only slight downside i have found is that i have found is i have a misaligned red printed line on the rear of the helmet on piece 6639671 and i have already been in touch with support to get a replacement item but this does not detract from the superb build of an iconic formula one drivers helmet

Angles, Colors and Imagination
Lego has been around for a while, and they still have great quality products. You’re able to use the different designs, finishes and angles to build the helmet. You can also go on your own and decide to make whatever you want with them if you want. Legos are made so we can always have an imaginary usage. Children and adults can create whatever created nurse that they are experiencing and want to build. With Legos, it’s always an endless way to use your imagination!

Challenging, but Satisfying
I’ve built the Star Wars Helmets and if you too have experience of those and are expecting this build to be similar, like I was, then prepare to be surprised. It is a very different experience, more challenging I found than that other collection. For one, there are many little pieces that come together to build the chassis of the helmet as well as allowing for its helmet shape. This is intricate and not to be rushed. If pieces are off or mis-aligned even a tiny bit then it won’t fit together snuggly. I had to undo and redo some complicated chassis parts because of this. I made this over 4 days so I took my time with the seven bags. However, disappointed to see stickers for the visor element. You receive twice as many as required, presumably to cover you if it goes pear-shaped! Yet the remaining pieces are all printed (glad to see!) so a bit confused about the visor piece not being. Overall however, the final unit is very nice. The yellow colour is vibrant and the helmet shape is realistic. Yes there are gaps, as I’ve noted other builders comment about. However in my opinion this aspect does not detract from the set’s overall aesthetic or satisfaction. Once built correctly, the final unit is very displayable and the addition of a minifigure Lewis is welcome and appropriate. I’m glad the fan feedback from the Star Wars helmets about minifigures has been taken onboard for this one. I’m a Star Wars fan as well as an avid F1 fan, however I’m not particularly minded to go all-in for the rest of the collection at this time. Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers in F1 history, if not the greatest. I don’t get the same buzz looking at Norris, Piastri or LeClerc for example. What have they achieved? Give me a Senna, Lauda, Mansell, Schumacher, etc. helmet collection and that’s a different story! That’s created a buzz for me. That’s nostalgic and they’ve all been there and done it. That’s where I’d have hoped Lego were going but it seems they’re just going with the current grid. Ho hum…
