Happy with the purchase

Makes a really good cup of coffee. Its the biggest coffee maker I have owned but oh well, I get excited to wake up and know coffee is going to taste good. I like that the display is easy to see, and easy to program. Has a bold setting which is great, love strong coffee.

I wanted to love this coffee maker

This coffee maker is so aesthetically pleasing - it even puts on a performance when brewing coffee (the water chamber lights up). However, I’ve had many problems with it. The spring in the ground coffee holder doesn’t function, so now when I remove the carafe, coffee drips everywhere because it’s stuck in the open position. The water reservoir leaks horribly whenever I try to brew more than 8 cups, because that’s where the white funnel above connects to the clear reservoir below, and apparently it doesn’t connect well, because all water behind 8 cups leaks out and pours all over the coffee maker and countertop. Also, where the copper drip chamber meets the carafe, it’s either rusting or tarnishing somehow, I’m not sure which. I’ve tried to scrub/scrape/descale it to no avail. Lastly, I wish I had gotten this in black, because the amount that coffee stains this all over is very noticeable. The carafe lid, no matter how much soaking or scrubbing I do, is permanently brown. Honestly, were it not for the water chamber leaking and the drip tray leaking, I would give this 4 stars despite the staining and tarnishing issue, just because it’s so pretty. I do wish I could love this coffee maker more.

Gorgeous design!

I bought this as a Christmas present to myself and so I'm glad I did. It makes great coffee, and is easy to use and clean. It is beautiful in my newly remodeled kitchen. I had to give it 4 stars because the glass carafe broke today (my fault -- I set it on the counter a little too hard). I'm so sad, but I will try to order a replacement. I just wish it was a little thicker glass.
