Flawed guard design fails on softer beard hair

The comb guard design completely prevents this trimmer from working on softer facial hair. Because the thick guard frame creates a thick plastic barrier, the guard flattens hair against the skin before it can reach the blades. For me, at settings above 1 mm, it missed almost every hair. Unless you have stiff, coarse stubble that stands straight up, this guard will not trim effectively. Very disappointing performance. I am returning this item and hope Philips reaches out to let me test the Series 5000 BT5775 instead, as its open-prong design looks like it actually allows soft hair to hit the blades directly.

Cuts great. Easy to use. Battery life excellent.

Cuts great. Excellent battery life. Adjustable guard is easy to remove and adjusts flawlessly. Only complaint is that it doesnt have the vacuum feature with removable bin like my old 7000 series did.

Great for sensitive skin

I've got very sensitive skin and have always used a beard trimmer without the guard on to shave as other methods cause me issues. This beard trimmer was just what I needed and trims close enough without the guard on without causing me any skin irritation or issues such as I have had with other trimmers. Excellent product.
