Nice pattern but not as practical as previous set

I bought these dishes to replace a Mikasa Aliza teal set that I had that was wearing out. I like the pattern in this set, but they are less well made than the previous set and not as practical. This set has very shallow, wide bowls that are not practical for salads and soups and they are not microwave safe as they have metallic designs on them. They are also very thin in comparison to the previous set
