Whatever you do, don't get this for a newborn baby

When I was born, my grandmother gifted me a Melissa and Doug Giraffe in the hospital. Said giraffe was absolutely marvelous...but also huge. Don't get me wrong, the kid will love it. It was a great addition to the nursery, and was fun to dress up and play veterinarian with growing up. But lo and behold, what happened when I was 16 and the 4' giraffe, now pushing two decades, re-entered my life? I had a much smaller bedroom, and no real reason to keep the giraffe other than the crippling guilt of having it for that long. We finally brought ourselves to give it to a good home (the people who bought it intend to dress it up, giving it jewelry, piercings, and even it's own labubu...they take it to raves), but that was still 17 years of having to cope with the guilt of having a 4 foot giraffe that your now aging grandparent gave you, their first grandchild, and having to figure out what the heck you're going to do with said 4 foot giraffe because you'll be going to college soon and it won't fit in your closet. Just stick with a 16" giraffe plushie: Trust me, any future (grand)child/sibling's kid will thank you 🙏🏽🦒
