FUN and Engaging!

Learning Resources sent me this Vowel Owl set to try with my Kindergartener! This was a HUGE hit! The bright colors made the activity very appealing. She sat and sorted the vowel cards (long and short) into the cups. In fact, we did this activity several times! I love activities that are engaging and help reinforce basic skills. This activity also really helped in segmenting and sounding out each letter sound in the word.

Vowel Owls is a HIT!

My four year old is just starting to understand word recognition, sounding out words and spelling. This was a great game to help her learn how to sound them out and understand what letters made certain sounds. The product itself is very durable, we love the owl theme and the picture cards as well.

Love This Game!

Learning Resources sent me the Vowel Owls Sorting Set to try with my class. My students LOVED it. We used the set first during small group instruction with me and then we moved it to a literacy station. It is perfect for my EL students, helping them focus on the differences between long and short vowel sounds. It was a HUGE hit!

Great for my Kindergardener

I have been using this set with my Kindergardener. Many programs and games focus on consonants, so finding this was exciting! It has helped her with recognizing the difference between consonants and vowels and with the sounds the vowels can make. The set is very cute and there are several differnt games you can play with it. My 8 year old has even had fun getting involved with making it a game between him and his sister.

Helpful

With this game my daughter has been able to increase her awareness of what's a vowel, match cards to corresponding vowel sounds and practice sorting cards depending on the short or long vowel sounds. She's been really enjoying playing with us (and her older brother,) and though it takes time and practice, I believe this will help build her confidence and begin to easily recognize her vowels and sounds. Fun & cute game for those looking to help with phonological awareness and vowels.
