Happy Happy Surprise

I was shopping for a mother of the groom dress for my son's August wedding. My friend encouraged me to try this dress on because I passed it by our first go around. It's far less appealing on the hanger than on! The minute it was zipped, I knew it was the dress I was going to wear!! The asymmetrical neckline gives it a boost up from the traditional mother of the groom "stuff" and the column style, with a little bit of drape in the front, surprisingly was very very swimming. It was necessary to size up but I find that to be the of most formal wear. The color that is woven through the navy is subtle (like waves) and much more of a champagne than bright gold color, although either go with a dress. Even a mix of silver and gold would probably work.I worried about it being not appropriate for August ("summer formal") but with a lot of champagne colored accessories, like shoes, a woven clutch bag, bead and and cork bracelets and drop earrings (yes, it works!) the dress immediately took on an elegant and sophisticated summer look. I'll hem it to my ankles so that it is not a formal "floor length". Very excited that I am already ready for the big day. It was a happy surprise that I almost walked right passed!

I like the style

The dress is very pretty and flattering, but I'm not sure it's dark enough for the event I need which requires black. the description says "midnight" but honestly, it looks more like dark navy to me.

Cute high low hem but cheap fabric

Ordered in “vivid green”, and vivid it is! (Not to my liking.) The fabric seems kind of cheap, not what I’d expect from Adrianna Papell. I did like the ruffle high/low hem, but not enough to overweigh the other issues. Also, the sizing ran big for me. Returning without requesting an exchange.
