very good mattress cover for allergies

I've only had this on my bed for a week but so far, it's worked well. It's soft and quiet. It was a two-person job to get on the mattress. But this cover was easier to get on than a prior mattress cover. I have a severe dust mite allergy so even though it's more difficult to put on than a cover that only covers the top surface, it's worth the extra trouble

The AllerEase waterproof allergy mattress cover is a great buy! The cover will maximize any extra allergens, keep spills off that mattress of yours and zips up quite well. This was for a deep mattress and fit great. Oh, also, if you have those other 'critters' it will keep them out as weel.

I'm not sure about the effectiveness of this item as to things like bed bugs, waterproofing, and allergens. However, the material is very noisy when we move or shift on the bed. Also, the material makes the bed very hot, which defeats the purpose of having a cooling mattress. I would not purchase this again.

Put this on my guest bed because some young kids were going to be sleeping on it and the mattress was new. I like that it zips closed, so it encloses the whole mattress, not just the top. So it's more than just a pee-pad. The plastic is quiet when sleeping on it, you wouldn't know there was plastic on the mattress. I have this, then a mattress pad, then sheets. It was a little tricky to put on the mattress since it envelopes the whole mattress. But once we figured it out, it was easy. I would buy this again and recommend it to others.
Beware of Size
I gave this 3 stars because it said on the package that it fits up to a 14” mattress. NOT! I have a 12” mattress & it barely was big enough. It took 2 of us almost 2 hours to get it on & it barely zipped. Don’t buy unless your mattress is smaller than 12” because you’re going to have a hard time getting it on without ripping it.
