Defective and poorly designed. The seal leaked within hours of putting liquid into the carafe. It leaked overnight, staining my countertop and cracked the wooden base and removed the stain on the wood of the base due to moisture damage. After disassembling all of the pieces of the spout, re-tightening, and not adding as much liquid, it didn’t leak, but then I noticed there was rust leaking into the container from the spout. Returning.
