The second novel in the Ice Planet Barbarians series, the international publishing phenomenon now in a special print edition with bonus materials and an exclusive epilogue! Liz Cramer swears she'll find a way off of this alien planet she's stuck on then she meets Raahosh, the surliest and stubbornest alien, who won't leave her alone, and she just might be okay with that... Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I'm one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie's a jerk, because it also thinks I'm the mate to the biggest, grumpiest alien of the bunch. Raahosh believes the cootie's right, so he steals me away from the group, determined to make me fall for himor else. He has no idea who he's up against. And if I didn't want his insufferable self so much (thanks, cootie), I'd let him know exactly what I'm thinking. As it is, I'm doing my best to fight this instant attraction. Just because the symbiont thinks we're supposed to be together doesn't mean I have to go along with it. And if we fool around a little, it's merely biology. It doesn't mean I'm in love or that I'm destined to be his.

Great read

I liked this one less than the first. The female MC was annoying. That being said, I still enjoyed it.

Great story

This is a wonderful story. The world building is simply astounding. The characters are amazing. I love the relationship and banter between the two characters. Watching them change and grow through the story was a joy. The spice and action were intense. I love some of the twists that hit in this story. Great story.

Good, but not as good as the first one

I was surprised but loved the first book in this series, Ice Planet Barbarians, and so had to get the second one right away. This one was just as hot for sure, although maybe I wasn’t as consumed by the characters, but in the end it didn’t matter. I really did like this one too, and am eager to read on in the series and see how each of the girls from the ship resonate with their matches.

Chemistry On Point

I’m having a lot of fun with this series so far. These are definitely “fated mates” stories and I give props to the author for being able to write the chemistry so well when one character (the alien who already has a khui which directs him to his mate) is instantly infatuated with the other character (the human who is scared, confused, and not sure what is even going on). Not only is the chemistry there, but it grows as the story progresses. Liz is a very strong-minded character. It’s not even that she would object to being paired with Raahosh, it’s that she isn’t being given a choice. She often laments her lack of control over anything in the situation she is in, along with the other humans who were deserted on this planet of ice and snow. Raahosh knows he’s not the pick of the litter so when he resonates for Liz he takes drastic measures. Afraid his people won’t allow him to have the mate his khui is resonating for if she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, he decides to kidnap her and hold her until she realizes they belong together. Being as they are fated mates, this works out in one way. It also backfires drastically when they go back to join the others in his clan. Although this is a story of abduction in the beginning, there were still a lot of light moments. The misunderstandings with the language barrier, Raahosh not understanding how able Liz is and Liz not understanding the mixed messages she is sending. All a joy to read.

Yes yes and yes

I love this series so much. The laugh out loud parts and all of the smut from the characters makes this book very enjoyable to read. Very much alpha male vibes.

Exciting! Funny! Smokin' HOT!

I am absolutely enamored with the Ice Planet Barbarians series by Ruby Dixon! Move over Georgie and Vektal, there’s a new couple in town and they are more stubborn, more explosive and more loveable than their predecessors! Liz is an amazing heroine: smart, snarky, stubborn, skeptical and crazy! She’s not buying what these big blue aliens are selling and she definitely doesn’t want one of these neanderthals as a mate! Heck, she’s already been kidnapped once, she’s definitely not exchanging one prison for another. I don’t care how much the “cootie” resonates in unison with the surliest alien of them all! Raahosh is definitely surly and he’s got a good right to be. But when he’s faced with finding his mate and ending years of being alone, he goes a little (A LOT) crazy and steals off with the lovely Liz against direct orders from Vektal, the alien tribe’s chief. Raahosh knows it’s wrong, but he won’t risk anyone taking away his mate, despite Liz’s protests that she's most certainly not! Okay, so despite how bad this makes Raahosh look, it’s a little endearing that he wants to go all caveman over Liz, but fortunately she is having none of that. Liz bucks up against Raahosh and his stubborn, pigheaded overbearing ways and refuses to back down from him. Liz is freakin’ hilarious and her dialogue is that much funnier with her Okie twang and slang. She gives Raahosh a run for his money, that's for sure. Raahosh is not all that he seems to be though. Despite being the black sheep of the tribe, his gruff exterior masks many internal scars and a pain so sharp, so real that it almost humanizes him. No one seems to get under Raahosh’s skin quite like the prickly Liz. They are a perfect match! And can we talk about the hot alien sexytimes? Holy goodness! Liz and Raahosh’s passion is so explosive and fiery! I blushed and had to fan myself SO many times! Super hot and so incredibly nasty! So good, yet so naughty! Mind blowing! Yeah, um… you should definitely check it out! Ms. Dixon’s world-building is creative and immersive and her characters are brilliantly and beautifully flawed. Is it weird to say I want to live inside her head? Well there, I’ve said it and I won’t apologize! Ms. Dixon’s books are completely captivating, utterly fascinating and genuinely entertaining and I am looking forward to her next great adventure! **I voluntarily read a copy of the book generously provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review**

Superb Alien Romance

I have a soft spot in my heart for alien romance and was absolutely stoked to get my hands on the second book in the Ice Planet Barbarians series. Liz and Raahosh are my favorite couple in the series so far. It kinda reminded me of Taming of the Shrew, except they were both the shrew. It is clear that these two characters were made for each other, which is what you hope for in a book that utilizes the fated mates trope. If you have already read this book and have been thinking about picking up the special edition, do it! There is a very cute bonus story about Liz and Raahosh’s honeymoon, aptly named, Ice Planet Honeymoon and the cover art is gorgeous. I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and am glad to share a review with fellow and future readers of IPB.

Couldn't put it down, the best guilty pleasure!

My Review:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5 stars 4 Stars simply for the fun, entertainment value. Warning: It is 18+. I didn’t think I would like the first book, but I was wrong. These are fast reads and ridiculously addicting. Plot is basically 12 human women crash land onto this ice planet with these blue aliens (who are hot) and need these women to procreate and repopulate their dwindling numbers. I couldn’t make this up, but it is the one of the funnest book series I have read this year. This story follows Liz - she is the hunter of the group and she resonates with Raahosh. I didn’t think Vektal could be topped, but now I don’t know. As I am writing this I am already halfway done with the 3rd book and I have no idea how I got there. That is how insanely addicting (and quickly) this silly series is devoured. Just don’t think about the plot - just read it.
