Survivor meets The Bachelor in Attached at the Hip, an irresistible, romantic adventure by New York Times bestselling author Christine Riccio. Orie Lennox has spent her entire life prepping for her happily ever after and now that she's graduated, she's low-key wondering, when the heck is it gonna hit. Her love life, her new job, her relationship with her sister: none of it is quite what she envisioned it to be. One evening, on a whim, she applies for a reality show where she'll be stranded on an island, with a bunch of strangers, to play a game of human chess for a shot at a million dollars. What better way to force herself to break up with the things that aren't bringing her joy, than to abandon them all on short notice to live off the grid on a beach in the South Pacific? Orie's shocked when she ends up cast in an experimental romantic edition of the show; and even more surprised to find that her old high school crush, Remy, has been cast as well. Orie's one of ten contestants, set to compete in formidable challenges, while speed dating, in the wilderness: without deodorant, toilets, shaving cream, or showers. She finds herself tied up literally in a game of risky alliances as she navigates ever-growing feelings for her 'one that got away,' alongside an exciting array of budding new relationships.

Attached at the Hip

Reader’s Notes: – this is told from Orie’s point of view -there are about 137 curse words (most of them the ‘f’ word or the ‘s’ word) -kisses briefly mentioned tongue (multiple kisses) -it is mentioned once that the main character would typically have intimacy (sex) with her boyfriend (does not happen on page at all – past events) -some make outs/kisses had characters taking off each other’s shirts (mainly the guy’s as she’d already be in her sports bra as part of her acrobatic yoga outfits); some also had characters’ hands roaming under shirts/edges of her sports bra/under her dress onto her legs -this book has the characters on a show that’s a mix of dating show & Survivor – so for the most part they only have the clothes on their back to work with and sometimes go to their underwear in order to bath more properly – it is mentioned that some side characters either are in a same gender relationship or wouldn’t be opposed to being in one Review: This was more like a 3.5 star read for me due to the amount of cursing in the book and the way the kisses/makeouts were portrayed. But for sites that only take full star ratings I chose to round up due to how much I enjoyed the story otherwise. I really enjoyed the story’s concept of a dating/Survivor show and how the author wrote it out. I liked seeing everything from Orie’s point of view with only a few interviews included to give a better view at some of the other characters. There are two possible love interests, but as the story progresses only one is going to be the obvious choice due to situations that come up. I don’t want to spoil the who for new readers, but I really loved the guy Orie ends up with and loved seeing the connections they had that they were unaware of until something popped up. I loved that this was as much a romance as it was Orie figuring out who she wanted to be and what she wanted to do with her life moving forward. It made it easier to feel connected to Orie throughout the story! Summary: Orie thought she had her life all figured out, but now none of the pieces seem to fit the way she thought they would. From her guaranteed happily ever after with her high school sweetheart losing its luster to her partnership with her sister in their AcroYoga social media accounts causing tension between them things just aren’t right anymore. On a whim, Orie decides to make a change and apply for what she thinks is the next season of Survivor. Only when she makes it on set she finds out that it’s a romantic spinoff of the show. So instead of just making alliances as she works her way to the top, Orie might also make love connections. And with the show doing their homework when selecting contestants, Orie discovers a second chance with a missed love connection in her old high school crush Remy. In the end, Orie will have to decide if love is worth the risk or if the prize money will be her end goal…

Amazing Quick Read!

I bought the book when it first came out and read it during summer. I had such a fun time reading it! If you are in a reading slump I highly recommend this book. It has such a fun spin on a game show. I haven’t read many books that take place current day and revolve around a game show and this was such a fun ride. There are some twists and turns and I loved where the story went! Highly highly recommend this to anyone, easily one of my favorite books of Christine’s!

Survivor x Bachelor in Paradise

This is an excellent book if you enjoy watching Survivor, and maybe Bachelor in Paradise. In this hilarious romantic adventure, Orie thinks she has signed up to be on Survivor, but it turns out she’s on a Survivor spin-off show that has a romantic pairing element (a la Bachelor in Paradise). As she fights to win the prize to help her family, and prove to everyone that she’s an Adult who can handle herself, she has to navigate tricky alliances between: the one who got away in high school; a parkour star who turns out to love books as much as she does; and the new friend who wants her to stay loyal to the women on the show. It’s a fun story and I really enjoyed the audiobook.

Rom Com Meets Survivor

As someone who has never seen Survivor, I still really enjoyed this book! I've been a fan of Christine's since her Youtube days. I've read Again, But Better and Better Together as well, and I love being able to see how she has grown in her writing abilities. In regards to Attached At The Hip specifically, I feel like she did something very original with this book, especially the twist at the end. You find yourself getting sucked in to the story, this book was really easy to binge read. If you enjoy rom coms, I highly recommend this book.

Cute and Engaging!

This was such a cute read!! I loved the premise and the characters and the relationships. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end trying to guess what might happen. I loved Orie and how complex she was. Her problems and struggles were so grounded and it made the story that much more powerful. I still have so many questions about the ending, but overall this was such a wonderful read!
