Imitation or Seconds?
These plates are a poor imitation of my original; in fact I think they are seconds because the quality of the writing on them varies. The color of the plates is not the same as the original (in fact, the label says “oatmeal” when white was ordered), the plates are much heavier, even slightly different in shape, and the designs vary in quality.

Replacement plates
We love our Botanic Garden dinnerware but some of the salad plates has been damaged. I am so glad I could buy replacements of that size plate.

Great plates, terrible packing for shipment
The Portmeirion plates I ordered for a gift for my Mom were beautiful, and I was happy to find them available. Unfortunately, they were only available for shipping to my area. When they arrived, the box didn't have much cushioning for the plates, and one plate on the bottom of the box was completely broken into pieces. I called Macy's and asked them to replace one plate without having to ship the entire set back and risk receiving another broken set which might have even worse damage, and they refused to do that. They indicated that it was probably the shipping carrier's fault and not the packing, and that the entire set would either need to be returned and another one shipped (using the same packing method and the same carrier), or I would need to keep the set with the broken plate. I have to say that I have always had great customer service from Macy's in the past, but I was disappointed in the fact that they simply couldn't find a resolution to replace the one plate which was broken without risking further broken china in the replacement set by using the same ineffective packing method. As a result, I would not order fragile items again from Macy's, as they did not have pick up available in my area, they would not do a ship to the store in my area, and the packing for shipping to my home was poor. So, 5 stars for the plates we did receive unbroken, and 1 star for the poor customer service to resolve the error of the broken plate gives an average of 3 stars. My Mom is happy with the plates she received, but I am very disappointed that I couldn't get a sensible resolution from a store I have used for over 30 years. Most of my own dishes have come from Macy's in the past, and I was really saddened with this result, which was very different from my past experiences.
Broken dishes received 2X awful customer service
I ordered replacement dishes from Macy's as we have a number of 24 year old dishes with crazing, chips and cracks. The dishes arrived broken and we returned them to the store for a replacement set. Another shipment arrived with more dishes cracked and broken than in the first set received. Customer service has been horrible to work with and I was told I would be receiving a replacement gift card (which I do not want, I would like my original form of payment credited) and a return UPS shipping label. Neither has been received.
Really wanted these plates
Ordered 1 set brought back damaged. Ordered a new set received all plats with pits AGAIN 2 full sets damaged. Terrible customer service at 800#. 30 plus minute waits to get through 4 times called.
