Easy to use

We have had our Barista Express for a month. It has been easy to use. Our biggest learning curve has been choice of coffee to bring and how much to use. Both issues fairly easy to overcome to suit our taste

Not consistent coffee maker

Very fussy machine. Waste a ton of beans trying to make coffee. They will blame the beans the coffee company blames Breville. You end up wasting money.

Great Entry-Level, Reliable Espresso Machine

This is the second time I purchased this same machine after my first one reached the end of its life at 8ish years. Very happy with this machine and should be an excellent choice for anyone looking to be their own at home barista. Easy to use and maintain, huge community of people and lots of content online from youtube and other socials on tips and tricks. I do caution there is a learning curve with the tamping and dosing so if you're not looking to be head deep in the world of coffee/espresso, should explore other less involved machines from Breville. Best practice tip: To limit constant adjustments dosing and wasting coffee, ideally you find a roast you love and stick with it. Each coffee is slightly different and so each time you change it out (even if the new coffee is also the same roast level, say medium roast), you most likely need to recalibrate and for those new to the machine, you will be frustrated.
