Will never not use a smooth cast iron

The smooth texture in the cast iron is a game changer in my opinion. It helps so much with it staying non-stick which make the clean-up that much easier as you dont have stuck on eggs or seasonings to the bottom of your pan. It is slightly less weight than other cast irons which is nice but I would always love an even lighter option. The Smith & Clark heats up really nice and is able to hold a steady heat, no more heating up and cooling down to keep the right temperature consistent. Thanks to #influenster & #Smith&Clark for allowing me to provide an honest review for a complimentary product.

Good every day use

This pan is a great everyday use cast iron. It’s a great size, the handles make it easy to grip, and cooking is a breeze. As all cast iron, cleaning it has its learning curves. I haven’t experienced any warping, but I haven’t used it in the over yet.

Perfect little pan

I love this pan! It’s the perfect little heavy duty pan for making bread cheese. A super quick way for an elevated meal. Hot oven, and a 15 min bake.. no cheese sticking at all.

A very handy little pan!

Great little frying pan! Heats up quickly and cooks evenly! Perfect for a grilled cheese or a couple of fried eggs. Not too heavy but also not too lightweight for cast iron. Love it!

Smoother grippy surface, but left an imprint that

I recently tried out the cast iron skillet but it has a few issues mostly aesthetically. My first impressions and Cooking: The first thing I noticed about the skillet was the surface. It was smoother yet had a slight grip to the surface, which intrigued me as to how it would compare to my cast iron skillet. The second thing I noticed was that the weight of the skillet was a bit lighter than my other skillet yet still had a hefty weight that I could use one handed versus having to use both hands on my other skillet to move it. In the images I used it to make steakums, I pre oiled and used high heat on the pan first before wiping the excess and lightly oiling it again, in the process I had to use a pot holder as the handle became very hot to the touch even at lower temperatures. The steakums themselves didn't stick even with seasoning but the seasoning didn't stick very well at first but they were very easy to move around in the pan. The cleanup: The pan itself after cooling down was easy to wipe off the excess oil before hand cleaning. I used hot water and soap with a dish cloth. After drying as seen in the pictures it left behind an imprint of the steakums that I can't seem to get out even with repeated use and washing. My final thoughts: Because the surface is smoother, I noticed that the seasoning does not stay very well on the meat and having the imprint left behind on the pan makes it look worn in and splotchy. I do like the pan but be prepared to maintain it more than usual than other pans.

Good pan

Great heavy duty pan! So far it’s been non stick .. cooks food evenly. This was my first cast iron pan and I was pleasantly surprised. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Great kitchen addition

With its large capacity and tendency to be more non stick than traditional cast iron skillets, this fry pan is quickly becoming a staple in our cooking. It came preseasoned, which was a time saver, especially since I don't know how to season a pan. (I've gotta get on learning that) The food cooks evenly and beautifully too. The only reason I took a star off is because it came with a defect on the handle - it looks like it wasn't coated or something. Had I purchased it, I would've sent it back and asked for a new one, but it's cosmetic in nature, so it doesn't interfere with cooking.

Durable and well-made

I really enjoy the size of this cast-iron pan. It has worked really well and I have seasoned it as long as you know how to cook with it. It is a well-made pan. It doesn’t feel super heavy, which is nice. Definitely well worth the price.
