Could Be Better

This was fun, but I wish it included a hammer with the chisel. We had to use our own. It was messy but that is to be expected. Also, the fossils were a lot smaller than expected. This is a great product for a kid that loves archaeology and fossils, but I’m not sure it’s worth the cost for a one-time use.

My boys love this kit. It takes a while to get the fossils out which I love because it keeps them entertained. It is a little bit messy but that to be expected.

Kids loved it

My kids, 10 and 8, had the day off school. We thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out this excavation kit. They were both excited to try it! It was packaged well and they were able to set everything up themselves. We had to wet the block. The block itself is made of some weird black soot material. It does get messy and I’m worried the black may stain. So keep that in mind. The boys had fun digging at the block and uncovering the hidden fossils. Definitely helped pass the time and kept them entertained. The fossils the got out were pretty cool too, a little smaller then I had pictured but still cool. This is a great toy for bored or curious kids.
