Could Be Better

This was fun, but I wish it included a hammer with the chisel. We had to use our own. It was messy but that is to be expected. Also, the fossils were a lot smaller than expected. This is a great product for a kid that loves archaeology and fossils, but I’m not sure it’s worth the cost for a one-time use.

Great toy!

My boys love this kit. It takes a while to get the fossils out which I love because it keeps them entertained. It is a little bit messy but that to be expected.

Kids loved it

My kids, 10 and 8, had the day off school. We thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out this excavation kit. They were both excited to try it! It was packaged well and they were able to set everything up themselves. We had to wet the block. The block itself is made of some weird black soot material. It does get messy and I’m worried the black may stain. So keep that in mind. The boys had fun digging at the block and uncovering the hidden fossils. Definitely helped pass the time and kept them entertained. The fossils the got out were pretty cool too, a little smaller then I had pictured but still cool. This is a great toy for bored or curious kids.

Cute

Looks cute. Excited to give this to my toddler nephew who loves dinosaurs so I'm sure he'll love this dig site. I imagine it'll lose its charm quickly but definitely fun for some time.

Son loved this

Okay so this is messy so just keep that in mind. We did it outside on our covered porch and it was perfect. The mess is why I have it 4 stars BUT it kept my son busy!!! We are always looking for fun activities to do on rainy days or just something new, I highly recommend. I will be buying this again for a Christmas present for my nephew.

Messy!

It was exciting but messy for my girls. You are supposed to wet the brick to help dig up the fossils but then it turns black and gets everywhere. Also at first they had a hard time finding the fossils- none of them were around or near the edges.

Fun but messy

This product is for 6 years and older I did it with my 5 1/2 year old and it was hard for him. Extremely messy. And the fossils can be very brittle and break. Overall a cool activity.

This was so much fun for my four year old to do! We did it together with mommy and daddy and she loved it all! She loves all these types of things! Great experience overall!
