I expected to love these velour pajamas as I needed a warmer set for a cold climate. My bedroom is drafty and since I have electric heat, I wanted to keep the thermostat lower to avoid high electric bills when it got cold. I also hoped that the fabric would be a little stretchy and give me a comfortable fit. I had ordered a size 1X. I am 5’8” tall and weigh 170 lbs. When I opened the package and removed the pajamas, I had to check to make sure that they were labeled a size 1X because they seemed to be very large, especially the bottoms. I don’t mind wearing an oversized roomy top, but the bottoms were so large at the waist, that after I pulled them on, they immediately fell down onto my feet. They also were too long for my legs, and as I held them up at the waist while I went looking for an elastic ponytail band to wrap the bunched up material that I held in my hand to make them stay up around my waist, i tripped on the leg material that was dragging on the floor as I tried to walk. I believe that these pajamas are closer to being a size 4X. The legs are way too long for my legs, even though I am tall. So if you decide to order these pj’s, you may need to order 2 or 3 sizes down. The top, as I mentioned is oversized as well, but not as much as the bottoms. The top is closer to a 3X, and definitely not a 1X. The material is a velour on the thinner side, but the purple color is nice. I liked the look of the shiny silver stars that are all over both the top and bottom, but they take away from the softness of the fabric because they are printed on top of the fabric instead of being woven into it. Since the velour is not thicker, the pajamas do not add much extra warmth, as I had hoped they would have. Also, the inside of the garment did not feel soft against my skin. The softness may improve once the pj’s are washed and if it has sizing, it may wash out which would leave more softness in the fabric. Also, the fabric that was used to make the cuffs around the sleeves feel scratchy and stiff. It is difficult for me to return items due to mobility issues, so I intend to reduce the bottoms by a few inches all the way down the legs, tighten the elastic within the waist and shorten the bottom of the legs. I will leave the top alone unless I can find a softer fabric to replace the cuffs. Perhaps the pajamas I received were just one that had been mislabeled with an incorrect size, and maybe the others are fine. I don’t know, and maybe there will be other reviews that will give a mention to the size of their pajamas and the accuracy of the size on the label. If your abode is warm enough where you don’t need a heavier fabric for warmth, these might be the right pj’s for you. If you want a softer, thicker velour, then you may be disappointed with them.
