emerald fell out

I had the ring on for about 30 minutes and the emerald fell out. Took me a day of crawling on the floor with a flashlight and I found it.. I immediately contacted the store and they said I could return it. They send me a return label. Then they sent me an email saying I could not return it and then I got another email saying I could return it so I returned it, and I got it back the very next day, with no reason no explanation, they said I was not able to return it. I was extremely disappointed especially because this is Macys store of which I have shopped at for 50 years no more very unprofessional, unethical and possibly illegal
