In her private office, Mrs. Lauder kept a collection of rare fragrance essences. She created a perfume from these precious ingredients that was deeply personal and for herself alone. Women who admired the mysterious scent were told it was from her "private collection." Not to be denied, they began calling department stores to request Estée Lauder's "Private Collection." In 1973, Mrs. Lauder bowed to popular demand and introduced her signature perfume to the world.

    The formulation changed

    I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. Unfortunately, she immediately noticed a different scent from what used to be her favorite perfume. Searching online, it appears they changed Private Collection's formulation such that it does not have the same scent. There may be valid reasons for the reformulation, but it should not be sold with the exactly the same name as the previous version.

    It doesn't smell the same as it used to I couldnt even smell it 5 minutes after I put it on

    The scent not the same as the regular sized Private Collection and doesn’t stay long. Really disappointed as I am hoping this replacement to the old version would be at least comparable. Would be returning it for sure.

    Different Scent

    First time using this private collection scent. This perfume takes getting used to, scent is very different, it might not blend with my body chemistry as it would with someone else.

    Perfume sent

    This perfume smells nothing like the original private collection perfume, I am so disappointed that it was discontinued. This perfume will immediately be returned

    Love this Private Collection

    My work friend always smells so wonderful. She said it was Estée Lauder PC. She just retired so I ran right over to the website to purchase some PC! You cannot get PC in dept stores. It's has such a beautiful fragrance. When I first spray it, there is an odd smell. After drying it makes such a lovely fragrance. I hope I smell as good as my friend.
