Well made jewelry making kit.
This is the ideal gift for young girls. I gave this to my granddaughter so she could keep busy during school down time. She has made beautiful bracelets. This kit taught her patience and also let her experiment with putting colors together. Ideal gift for young girls up to 12 years of age in my opinion.

Good variety, not good instructions
I love that this kit has a good variety of different cords and chains to make jewelry on! There are several different kinds of beads and clasps also. The tiny pair of pliers is also very nice. There are a couple of things that could be improved though. First of all, once the kit is opened, there isn't anything to store things in. So you either have to come up with some kind of container that keeps things separated out, or keep the big plastic insert that comes in the box. It would be nice if it came in a plastic container with a lid that you can keep it all in instead of a throw-away plastic sorter. Secondly, there is a sheet of instructions that comes with it, but it's not very helpful. It teaches you a knot that you can make, but doesn't explain what it's for. It shows how to use the small and large eye needles to put beads on them, but doesn't really tell you what to use them for. I would have liked instructions on how to put the clamps on the leather cord, but I didn't see that. Anyway, the kit itself is wonderful and has a good variety of things which inspire creativity. My 9 year old daughter had me help her make a choker and was excited to make bracelets and other fun things. She likes it, but wishes she had a good container to put the items in. She loves to make jewelry and likes the different cords and beads in this set. It will be fun.

Surprisingly decent quality
Our daughter is 9. She has spent hours picking out beads to used for each bracelet. She has needed help with the clasps, but I don’t feel that it takes away from her enjoyment. She did spill the beads. So we’ll need to find a better container for them, but she has really put thought into what she wants to make. It’s fun to see her creativity.

Perfect for my tween
My 10 year old daughter is at the age that she is so hard to buy for. This Jewelry Designer Set was perfect for her! The kit comes with a ton of adorable options and kept her busy. I love that she is able to use her creativity and create some pretty pieces. She does still need some adult help with this but we enjoy doing it together. Overall, very pleased with this product.

Fun!
My daughter, who is 8, loves this jewelry making kit! It comes with a ton of different beads and Charms and strings to make necklace and bracelets. The only "complaint" I have, if you can call it that, is that it's a little advanced for the recommended age of 8 and above. The strings have to have clasps put on with the included pliers, but her little hands had trouble with that part. Other than that it's great and fun for hours designing jewelry!

Great Starter Kit
I bought this FAO Schwarz Jewelry Designer Kit to start making my own jewelry and I like the fact that it came with two plastic containers that each have 20 compartments in them to hold all the different beads & pieces that you need to make the jewelry. A good investment that you & your child can do together as nothing is more important this day & age the family time.
