disappointed

lid falls off when trying to empty teakettle. Then steam hits your hand. must wear a hot mitt to protect your skin. handle also gets warm

Really didn't want to replace my old kettle but alas the whistle blew its final salvo and the years had taken their toll on its finish so....I sought a good solid replacement that was also practical. I have a beauty from Williams Sonoma; alas it doesn't pour easily but it looks good! Anyway, this Farberware pot is a decent thicker gauge and whistles proudly. Thumbs up!

Standard Design, Excellent Product

Excellent, standard whistling kettle with retractable spout cover. Previous purchase (different company) had a loose-swinging spout cover and so spilled scalding water when pouring. I put that one out in the building lobby.
