A great piece of hardware!

I am showing my age here but, I learned how to type in High School back in the early 80's. Every person I have worked with who has been in close proximity to me has said that I "type very loudly". I guess I developed very strong fingers on the old manual typewriters! In the past ten years I have had several keyboards crap-out on me. I even had to replace a laptop that I was told had been damaged due to excessive wear on the keyboard [can't find the eye-roll emoji]. I bought this wireless keyboard because I had already gone through other manufacturers and since my Z Book is an HP and it seems to be holding well [so far], I thought "Why not" ... I think I have had this for over a month now and it is a beast. I love the way it feels and my wife does not yell at me to "quit banging on your keyboard" from the other room. Now that I know it is going to survive, I will go ahead and program the remaining keys and get back to work.

Nice and sleek

The keyboard is nice and has a sleek profile. The lettering on the keys is a bit difficult to see in a well-lit room, but seen clearly when the lights are off because of the backlighting. I had to turn off the backlighting to make out the keys better. Other than this, the keyboard is great. I would have preferred the black 975, but it was sold out. This works just fine though.

Flat skinny board

I have used better and comfortable keyboards. The lighted keys are hard to distinguish when they are lighted and very uncomfortable to work with.

Wireless Keyboard

Keyboard is great. It was purchased it primarily for the back light and programing feature. The one downside and my only complaint is the lack of set up and user instructions. As with many HP products user instructions and setup procedures are very lean and hard to find, even on their web site. Other than that, I would recommend this unit.

Comes up Short

The footers on the keyboard are minimal and do not raise the slant sufficiently to be comfortable for long typing sessions. The device was purchased because it has the backlit key option. While this is satisfactory, I am having to prop the keyboard up with books to get it to a comfortable typing position.

Excellent, with a little room for improvement

Excellent, silent, soft, intuitive.... only area for improvement: the characters on the keys are difficult to read sometimes depending on the room light; not enough contrast between key and character colors
