Size Control issues

I received these as a Christmas present and they are SUPER CUTE!! But evidently they have sizing control issues. I was gifted a 7.5 (my normal size is a 7 or 7.5 depending on the shoe) and they looked and fit like 9s!. I could put two fingers in the back of the shoe and they were definitely listed as a 7.5, so it wasn't that the wrong size got put back into the box. So we ordered the size 7. These are so tight that I can get my foot in it, but can't take a step without it being painful. Be aware that you might need to size up or return them several times if ordering online. Sadly, my store doesn't have them in stock to find one that fits. I would love to hear from INC about the sizing,
