My Take on John Varvatos XX Intense Alright, I've got to talk about John Varvatos XX Intense. I've always been a fan of the whole Varvatos vibe—that cool, slightly edgy, rock-and-roll thing—and this fragrance absolutely nails it. If you're looking for a scent that feels like a night out in a cool city, this is one you need to check out. So, What Does It Actually Smell Like? Right off the bat, you get this awesome, warm blast of spice. It's mostly ginger and cardamom, but it's not sharp or sneezy like some spicy scents can be. There's a little bit of bergamot in there that keeps it from being too heavy from the jump, which is a nice touch. But the magic, for me, happens about 20 minutes in when the scent really settles down. This is where the coffee note comes out to play. Now, don't think you're going to smell like a walking espresso machine. It’s not that kind of coffee. It’s a much smoother, dark-roasted, almost sweet floral coffee vibe that's just incredibly unique. It's the kind of thing that makes someone lean in a little closer. After a few hours, it dries down into something seriously addictive. It gets really creamy and warm, thanks to sandalwood and a ton of tonka bean (which gives it a vanilla/almond feel). It's sweet, but in a masculine, woody way, not a sugary way. It’s the scent that lingers on your jacket the next morning and makes you smile. How It Wears (The Important Stuff) Performance-wise, it's pretty solid. On my skin, I get a good 6-8 hours out of it. It's not a "beast mode" monster that will fill up a room, and honestly, that's a good thing. It projects enough that people next to you will notice it for the first couple of hours, which is perfect for what this scent is. It's designed to be discovered, not to announce your arrival from 20 feet away. When I'm Reaching for This This is 100% a fall and winter fragrance for me. It's got way too much warmth and sweetness for a hot day. I wear this when I'm going out at night—whether it's for drinks, a date, or just hanging out. It's my go-to "leather jacket" scent. It just feels right for the evening. I definitely wouldn't wear this to the office; it's a little too seductive for a spreadsheet session. Great scent of cedar wood and coffee
This scent is great! Not too overpowering, with perfect notes of ginger, coffee, and cedar wood. The packaging is very sleek and mysterious. The scent lasts quite a while too and I’ve gotten many compliments!

Lasting Intensity
Strong scent and very masculine. It can be overpowering, so I feel a spray or two is more than sufficient. It lasts long, enough for the whole night or an event, which is great as many others tend to dissipate within a few hours. The bottle is unique in its design, but still easy to use and spray.

The scent is very nice and the longevity is great.
It has a very muscular smell to it. The price to performance is worth it. The bottle has a cool red texture to it. The packaging was very nice and professional. The scent lasts very long and leaves a nice trail of smell behind. I give this a 8/10 I’m more of a floral type of person but it’s still a great pick up.

I have had this fragrance for a while now I would say is long lasting, but will not recommend for the day today it’s pretty intense and not very favorable
