I really like the toaster. This is my second 4 slice Kitchen Aid toaster. I just wish it was easier to read the dials on the front of the appliance.

Noisy and poor bagel toasting
We had a Kitchen Aid 2 slice toaster similar to this one (fairly basic) that lasted 15 years. We quickly replaced it with another Kitchen Aid when it died but upgraded to the 4 slice. Unfortunately it's not comparable. There's an alarm that sounds before the toast pops, which can't be turned off and it's quite obnoxious imo. The "bagel" feature leaves one side toasted and the rest feeling still cold - it doesn't warm it all the way through. I mean, it does the job, but I don't love it.

Stop the beeping!
The beeping sound when toast is ready should have a turn-off option. It's very annoying. And we wish the toaster would accomodate longer pieces of bread and dislike the smaller size limit. But it looks good, at least.

Great quality!
I purchased the toaster as a Christmas present for my boyfriend's mom. Her current 4-slice toaster, from another brand that remain nameless, stopped working on one side so she could only toast 2 pieces of bread at a time. Since we have family gatherings at her house often, she was thrilled to get a new toaster and a KitchenAid on top of that! I highly recommend this toaster!

4 slice toaster
The first time I used the toaster, I tested all four slots at once. One slice came out burned on one side and perfect on the other side. One slice came out less than the medium I chose. The other two slices came out way darker than the medium setting. I also found that the darkness selector would change too easily with movement of the toaster, ie, moving it to the storage location. Overall, it works way better the Cuisinart one I replaced.

Great... but can't find replacement part
Lift lever broke on kmt4115 toaster that we have loved for years. Searched Kitchenaid site and the only replacement lift lever is for another model. Tried doing "chat" on Kitchenaid site and chat was both worthless and infuriating. Thinking of replacing entire toaster With Another Brand.
