No Fly on mens pajamas. Are they designed by women?

Fly away

Bought these pajamas as a gift for a 65-year-old man. When he tried the pants on, he thought he had put them on backwards. That was not the case: there was no fly front. He was embarrassed to tell me at first and decided to keep them anyway. When I had a chance to examine the pants, I saw that where the fly should have been, there was reinforced extra fabric on the inside of the pjs but a placket had never been finished.
