Great design but didn’t last the school year
Size, pockets, design is excellent. Unfortunately, the zipper broke and seams ripped before the school year ended. It lasted about 8 months before it started to rip. Lands End stands by their products though.

Seams and zipper broke
Lasted 8 months and most seams and zipper broke. Previous bags lasted much longer... Very disapointed as I was hoping to have this bag at least a year or two as the ones I bought before.

Fell apart
I ordered this for my son for his first year of college. It was a really nice bag. Great color, good feel, and it appeared sturdy. Unfortunately, the strap broke after one semester in school. I was very disappointed. It's not even like he over loaded his bag. One laptop, water bottle, notebook, phone, and a few pencils. I would have expected it to last more than 5 months.

Flimsy and disappointing
I bought this for my middle schooler at the beginning of this school year to replace his previous LE backpack, which is still in perfect condition after several years of hard use but has a more childish pattern and was no longer big enough. The top grab handle broke within weeks, and the entire backpack looks and feels like it's been used hard for years, when in fact it's been less than 6 months. Not sure if it's just the material choice or a change in LE quality/construction, but this is very poor quality, with thin material that makes the bag floppy and poor construction. Huge bummer. I'm switching to L.L. Bean for a replacement that I know will last.

Lasted 115 days
I bought three of these backpacks for my kids in August 2023. Initially they seemed good but are not holding up well at all. One strap already has a broken strap after just a few months.

Handle broke
We have bought Landsend backpacks for several years. This is the first time the handle broke within first month of school. I hope the company will construct a better quality book bag.

was great - until it wasn't
The description states " keeps our backpacks going for years". It was great for the first 4 months, then the weight started to break the bag down. Just as katharinebca stated, the handle tore then the sides tore, now the zippers have started to tear away. It wasn't made to handle middle school kids having to carry all their books and supplies since social distancing removed lockers from schools. It really was great til the weight wore it down
