Does not match..,

I was hoping to replace my lipstick and lip pencil with something in a shade similar to it (Audrey lipstick and Redwood pencil). The new ones are similar, but are too light.

Not what I hoped for...

I was over the moon excited to try the Scarlet Velvet! The delivery was delayed~not fussing just sad the process took almost a month to arrive. When the day finally came, i opened the box to find it's damaged...That's right, my excited is now starting to fade. The damage did not appear to be a delivery related, but like someone already opened the lid and decided it's not for them, and well... you know..smashed tip and cause additional indentations down the side when closing the lid without retracting it first. OK, I thought whatever...as I start to inspect it, I get a whiff of a chemical smell covered up by, what I would call, old lady perfume! Nah, I will pass on this one. I will returned to my true love of MAC...Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts on this matte lipstick. Beautiful color, just not for me!

Love the Color, but too Chalky

Chantilly Lace: Honesty is the best policy because that helps with future formulas. I Love - Love - Love the shade of this lipstick, it's perfection. However, I do not like the formula. It is Matte and I am not foreign to matte formulas. For Example: I love the Chanel allure velvets, but their shades are lacking. This LM formula is too dry and feels chalky. It's not because I chose too light of a shade, I have porcelain skin and I use a darker lip liner, but it just doesn't melt into the lips or blend well. It doesn't feel one with the skin. Whether it is put on alone, with lip liner, or with gloss doesn't seem to help modulate the chalky look. It sadly just sits there, and you can feel it when you rub your lips together or try to blend it with your finger. Keep the shade and some refinements. I wish they would take this shade and made it into a cream or satin formula for improved texture. I still LOVE Laura Mercier products, but wanted to be open to help future product advancement. Thank You!

I did not like the color or application. the color was more of a chalky white and not matte. It didn't go on evenly. Disappointing for the high price.
