A cute, but underwhelming set.

This was my first lego advent calender. I purchased it at discount, after Christmas. I wasn't sure what to expect but I love Marvel and seing Spider-Man in a holiday sweater had me sold! Unfortunately, that seemed to be the highlight of the set. While I had fun opening everything at once, I couldn't help but feeling a little dissapointed after. Spider-Man along with Black Widow were the only characters to have holiday sweaters on. It seemed the "Marvel" and "Christmas" aspects were kept separate. Most days were either or but not both. I couldn't help but feel there were a lot of missed opportunities. Why did the Christmas tree stand come separate from the tree itself? Why was Wong (whom I couldn't even tell was Wong) with the Tesseract? Why was there a Loki throne but no Loki? Mjolnir but no thor? Okoye and Wong could have been swapped for Loki and Thor. That along with EVERY character having holiday themed clothing would have completely changed the experience. As I said before, I purchased this at discount, really wanting the Spider-Man sweater figure, so I wasn't too dissapointed. But if I had purchased this at full price and opened it day by day, wow I would be bummed. There are defintiely some highlights to this set. Spider-Man and Black Widow look great in their sweaters!! Spider-Man's golden webs were amazing! The Ironan snowman and reindeer were cool too. Then something cool like Dr.Strange's cloak, which is not just regular cloth but it's own unique piece, is overshadowed by the fact that it didn't come in a bag and it was separate from Strange himself. Also the mini hydra train was cool but then it should've been able to connect to itself. I will give next years calendar another try but I am honestly very hesitant about it.

A Disappointment, Even on Sale

My son chose this on a visit to the store after a rough doctor's appointment. We previously got a Lego Harry Potter calendar that was quite nice, so I was expecting the same quality, but this was underwhelming even at an after-season sale price.

Buy it only for the figures

While I was happy with the City advent calendar as it had builds you could add to your city buildings, I'm not thrilled with the Marvel advent calendar. Buy it only if you want the figures as that's about all it's worth. I purchased it at 30% off so glad I didn't pay full price. I did notice it was the only advent calendar besides Friends that was sold out before Christmas and that you can still purchase.

Marvellously Disappointing

I have been a big Lego fan since I was young, this being my first advent calendar I was very excited to see what would lay in store. The minifigs included were really neat, there were a few minor characters that honestly should have been replaced by villains. Also *spoilers ahead * Lego gives you thors hammer on a Christmas mantle, and you would think he would be in the next window but he is nowhere to be found! Some of the builds weren’t builds at all, one day is just Dr Stranges Cape. That’s it. You predictably get him the next day, which is just lazy for a wonderful company like Lego to do to their fans. I believe there were 6 days that are basically tables, one is a gift wrapping station, a dining table, sadly nothing to do with Marvel at all. I will not be purchasing a Marvel calendar next year, really hoping Lego learns from the really negative reviews this year. Your team can do better, try better next year!

Great option to get many mini figurines

Many of the avengers characters are present, the side items are great as well.

Disappointing

Was disappointed to find that this calendar contained mostly lazy, generic builds that lacked theme and excitement. 1 door contained just a bag of golden accessories, and another door contained just a cloak by itself. The last door was just a tree, not anything special. It really feels like LEGO phoned this one in with no quality control, particularly when you compare it to the Star Wars calendar released the same year, which is full of cute little builds that pay homage to the different vehicles and scenes from the films. Worst LEGO calendar I have seen in many years of collecting.

Worse Advent

This is a really bad advent. Potter and Star Wars are 100 times better. Getting poor accessories on days is a bad choice Lego. If Lego can’t think of better items than webs, cape , or tree stand then it’s really time to think about retiring the Marvel Advent. I’m going to need to see awesome reviews before considering next years.
