For Granddaughter’s hope chest

Started about 15 years ago with a teapot and 4 cups and saucers. Slowly adding as the years went by. Now at 20 and finishing village she has a place for 8. Hope she remembers our tea parties. She loves the print and special shapes of the dishes etc.

Just as pretty as the china but lighter and safer

My mom loves our bone china version of this set, but with arthritis in her hands, it was getting harder to safely handle those heavy dishes. These are just as pretty but physically much lighter and more comfortable for her to hold, plus not prone to chipping or shattering if her aim or grip slips. They're dishwasher-safe, and since fortunately we don't need to be able to microwave them or cut on them with sharp knives, the melamine works just as well for our purposes. I appreciate that the design seems to be integrated into the material, rather than just screen-printed on top like a lot of plastic dishes, so I feel confident that they'll survive the dishwasher long-term. This was a great solution to adapt to changing health needs without having to give up her favorite china pattern!
